Quincy, Massachusetts -- The following information was released by the National Fire Protection Association:
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) announced additional NFPA resources in PDF format. A PDF of the 2011, 2010 and 2009 National Fire Codes[R] Sets can be downloaded for offline access and searching across the complete code set. The PDFs can also be maintained as an electronic archive. Several NFPA codes are now also available in redline editions which, through the use of color, identify changes in the code from one edition to the next.
The PDF format allows users to access an electronic version of the codes after a one-time purchase and a single download. Documents are searchable through the advanced search feature which allows the matching of words and phrases. Having these materials in PDF allows users to access all of the codes anytime and anywhere, without an internet connection. All text, tables, and images within the documents can be copied for reuse, and annex material is available through embedded links.
Redline codes feature deleted code material in red strikethrough type, new material in blue type, and changed content is indicated with a vertical rule in order to help users keep up-to-date on code changes from one edition to the next. Eleven documents are now available as Redline Editions, with the next group coming out in August. The list of available Redline PDFs will be updated continuously.
