QLD:Hicks' novel up for award
DAVID HICKS' controversial novel has been shortlisted for the Queensland Premier's
Literary Awards.
It's been nominated for the Non-Fiction Book Award, with the winner to be announced
on September 6.
The tell-all novel recounts his six year detention at the US-run jail over accusations
he fought for al-Qaeda.
The 35-year-old's book has sold about 30 thousand copies and is believed to have generated
about 10 thousand dollars.
However, the NSW Supreme court froze profits from the book earlier this month under
proceeds of crime laws.
